Pre-Buzz
In this section, we will cover the four elements of your author base and how to use each properly. 1. Social Media. This section will include lessons on Facebook and Instagram and will show you how to create perfect social media posts. It will also help you create a varied list of post topics, all designed to create interest and pre buzz about your release. 2. Goodreads. The largest reader database can be a little confusing. This section includes three lessons on Goodreads and will help you to set up your author profile, use their free promo tools, and create events. 3. Your Email List. I'll talk about the elements of a great newsletter and different ways you can grow subscribers. 4. Your Website. I'll take you behind the scenes on my own website, and describe the four elements of a successful author website.
Your Social Media Gameplan
Every book's sales cycle is different. Some books have a steady increase in word of mouth. Most books have an initial spike of sales, then a gradual decline. However your book performs, it's important for you to not give up on your marketing efforts. You need to constantly work to build your readership base and think of each novel you release as a tool in your long term plan. Now you need to transition your marketing efforts into more of a long-term plan. Your focus needs to be on continual marketing of your current novel, along with the promotion of your next book. There is an overwhelming opinion in the author community, and I beg you to find a single author who disagrees: More books lead to more sales. With each new release, your readership grows, your books find new readers, and your writing and product will improve. This section includes strategies for long term success and reinvigorating sales of already-released titles.
