I believe you’re correct. Which is the same for co-authors using KDP for regular books. Only one person can have the account and receive the money. Any distribution of royalties is something the KDP account holder has to take care of.

It has to be something never published on Kindle or ANY book platform. If you’ve never published a book and want to break it down into chapters, that’s fine, though I would personally recommend writing something specifically designed for a serial format. Think long-running television shows or webcomics as examples.

I only have experience with Wattpad (which was okay), so I can’t say. But I do look forward to trying the others in the future.

I had the same thought. The lack of advertising avenues means it is going to be up to authors to drive traffic to a story using other ad sources and their own social media platforms. It’s a very distinct disadvantage to lesser known authors who do not have a large fanbase. Feels like this is going to only be viable for well known authors who already have a large following. There is also the aspect of what readers expect and how much they are willing to pay. I write in the paranormal action genres and my readers hate series, most refuse to buy them unless the series is complete, and they refuse to pay more than $0.99 for a completed full length novel. I’m not sure how well serialized works in many of the fictional genres would fare on this type of platform.
