If it's the file for your book, I 'believe' (because I don't know for sure) that they setup the book as a Fulfillment By Amazon (basically drop ship it as a product and not a 'book') and then they can update product images. I wouldn't recommend doing that.

Hi, Thank you for the great article.
I would like to know how you get the mockup on your book page.
Do you write a review and upload the picture there, or is there another way to go about this?
Or do you need Author Central to be able to do this?

I could not make any of the free mockup files work either, and I figured out that It is because Photoshop Elements doesn’t open the Smart Object layers — only the full Photoshop program does this. Bummer.

Mockup can be good or bad I think. Sometimes, a book where a mockup is visible, seems too much a “marketing” book for me.

Tried mockupjar, not free. You can create your mockup, but when you try to download it says you have to login. Tried to register and you have to create a paid account to create an account.

Does anyone uses a mockup on their actual product listing? If so can you somehow create an image for the listing and a seperate one for the actual book cover? As having a mockup for front cover looks a bit silly.

No, I’m actually good friends with Derek. I said I just heard about “that” – as in his new diy book covers thing. He has so many awesome projects and irons n the fire. It showed I needed to reconnect with him to find out more about what he`s up to. I think he`s back in the States now…but he jumps between Portland and Taiwan a lot.

In reply to Dave Chesson. I'm surprised you have not heard about Derek before this, because I could have sworn I found you through him. The only 2 things I've bought as an author is your KDP Rocket and Derek`s tutorial. I highly recommend both.
