Hi Cindy. That’s correct. If you buy now, you can just log back on to Udemy when you’re ready and your purchased courses will be sitting there waiting for you to take them. Best part is, you have access to them for life. Hope that helps!

Dont have a lot of time between now and when the sale ends but 4 or 5 of these sound awesome to take in 2018 to me. Can you tell me quickly how it works? If I buy now, can I start the course any time during the year or is there a start date?

Thanks. I have taken too many webinars and seminars where the focus is non-fiction. It’s really hard to find any good advice on fiction. Yeah, I totally get that you cannot have everything inclusive, it would be overwhelming and too much info at one time. Since my novels are getting good reviews, I figure it’s best to concentrate now on the marketing aspect. Not that my writing couldn’t improve–it always can–but just that what I have the MOST need of is understanding how to get on at least the top 100 in my category or sub-category on Amazon. I will look into Mark Dawson. I already follow Nick, but $500 is out of my budget for now. Thanks for your time and advice.

I’ll start it off. Kindling by Geoff Shaw is by far the best in my opinion (especially when including the Facebook group which is invaluable) but I THINK it may be closed??? It is worth checking out for sure (and I’m sorry if it is closed and I just teased you). But, if it is closed, his mini courses on Udemy are also amazing great for learning certain aspects of the business. I also learned a ton from Nick Stephensons 1st 10k Readers course and Mark Dawson’s Self-Publishing Formula. They are more expensive (around $500) but well worth it in my opinion. Some of the Udemy courses and others are certainly good (I have taken dozens of courses, maybe even over a hundred over the years) but it’s rare that they are all-inclusive and any course that claims to teach you everything you need to know to become a bestseller (including the writing) while being under 3 hours is just crazy. They may have good bits but they are certainly not all-inclusive like they claim! It also depends on your genre (fiction vs. non-fiction especially) and whether you need help with the writing part or are just looking to learn the business side.

Thanks. Maybe other fiction writers will chime in. Fingers crossed. I did find a couple courses I’m going to go for. It’s a perfect kick-in-the-pants for a new year. Thanks again. 🙂

I used to have all my criteria used listed in this article, but I felt as though no one was reading it and it made it feel longer than it should have been. As for taking them all, no. I have taken a few of them, but I then did research based on popularity, reviews, grades and the background of many of the teachers.

As for fiction, I’m not sure – I’m not a skilled fiction writer myself, so I’m not sure which one is the best of the best for that.

Thanks for putting this together. Have you done ALL these courses?
Where do your recommendations come from? There’s a ton of courses here a great prices, although a few seem redundant, and I’m having a hard time figuring which ones to choose. I see a lot of advice for non-fiction marketing, what’s the BEST MARKETING course for FICTION?

Also, what’s the BEST WRITING course to take your fiction to the next level. I’ve done many webinars, read tons of how-tos, one of my fave being: Self-Editing for Fiction Writers, as well as many writer’s workshops and live seminars. I don’t know if it’s a writing skills thing or a marketing thing to get my books selling more.

I have all 4 and 5 star reviews on all my vintage fiction, but not enough. I didn’t see a course about getting more reviews. Are there any?

I encourage everyone to weigh in on what courses have helped you the most. Seriously, top 2? Thanks in advance. I will share this post with my critique group. LOVE your site!!!! Happy New Year!

I did once, but I had a full detailed outline, and even wrote the intro and outro to each chapter.
